Will former WWE Champion Big E make a rare appearance for the New Day 10th anniversary celebration this Monday? A new report makes it seem highly likely.
The New Day is one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Yet they are far different than other iconic WWE teams like the Hart Foundation, New Age Outlaws, or the Hardy Boyz. Firstly, the trio brought the classic “Freebirds rule” to WWE by being three men who were interchangeable in tag matches. Secondly, they have stayed together continuously longer than almost any team in WWE history.

However, it seems like that might be on the verge of ending. After a couple of years of falling into irrelevancy, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston — the two still active members of the team — have had one of the more intriguing storylines on WWE Raw this year. After being like brothers, a rift between them has grown.
It got as big as ever this past Monday when they verbally tore into each other and aired long-held issues. The major problems couldn’t have come at a worse moment with a planned 10th-anniversary celebration for them set to go down on the next episode of WWE Raw.
It seems like that might be a very bitter celebration. Unless Big E could make a rare Monday Night Raw appearance to ease the tension. Well, a new report seems to confirm the former WWE Champ will be in the building this Monday.
Big E expected to return for New Day anniversary celebration
“Amidst the speculation, we’re told multiple ideas have been presented for a Big E appearance this Monday on RAW to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of The New Day,” Wrestle Votes reported on Wednesday. “We’ll see what WWE has in store for the group as a whole as we approach Monday.”
It recently seemed like it was far from a lock that Big E would return for the big event. Even Kingston had recently mentioned in an interview that his long-time pal has been very busy away from the ring while still recovering from a broken neck he suffered in 2022. And that he wasn’t sure if he would make the anniversary show.
Big E has been active with WWE over the last couple of years, but mostly as an analyst for pre and post-event shows. He has hardly ever been on Raw or Smackdown since his injury. His return at a low point for the team could bring some high drama this Monday.
He has not been medically cleared to return to the ring and the last word was he was still a couple of months away from another checkup on his neck.
