John Cena has made numerous rivals in his storied WWE career. One of the lesser-known, because it was barely a rivalry, was with Santino Marella. And the WWE alum tried to restart it on social media this week.
In a tweet on X, Marella sent a bold message to the 17-time WWE Champion. “You still got a big mouth @JohnCena (pronounced Cheh).” Marella addressed Cena in the same manner he did when Marella had issues with Cena in the late 2000s. Famously calling him “John Cheh-na.”

The “Milan Miracle” pronouncing Cena’s name has lived on for many years after he left the company. Moreover, Cena himself could not control his laugh on live camera when it happened. The duo had been a part of some comedic segments and in-ring matches during their time in the company.
While the old Cena would brush Marella’s recent comments with a laugh, the new and ruthless Franchise Player would certainly not appreciate them. The WWE Universe has been feeling the wrath of Cena since the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE. He dropped ‘Hustle, Loyalty and Respect’ and turned heel that night.
Moreover, his recent change in attitude has fetched him major success on his farewell tour. He won the Elimination Chamber match and went on to main event his last WrestleMania as an in-ring performer. At the event in Las Vegas, Cena dethroned Cody Rhodes and won his record-smashing 17th World Championship.
Earlier this month, he collided with his iconic rival Randy Orton for the last time at WWE Backlash. Much like he did at WrestleMania 41, he used underhanded tactics and retained his title. The Champ is next set to battle R-Truth in a singles non-title match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
As for Santino Marella, he is currently the director of authority at TNA Wrestling.
