Aleister Black revealed in a new interview this week that after being in both the WWE and AEW locker rooms, he had a far more positive experience in the former because it was like no other locker room he has ever been in.
Earlier this month, after four years in AEW, Aleister back (formerly Malakai Black) made his return to his former home. Black’s return to WWE had been expected for some time. Firstly, because his long-time girlfriend Zelina Vega is a member of the roster. But there had been rumblings for months about his unhappiness there. As well as rumors that he tried to get out of his contract early.
While he never got his early release, once his contract expired this spring, he made the jump right back to WWE. In a new conversation with The Atomic Drop this week, Black explained why returning to the WWE locker room was a much better fit for him.

“I’ve always had a good relationship with Triple H. I get along great with Nick Khan. And the locker room is something that I’ve always preached about. How fantastic the boys are in WWE,” Black said. “And it just really felt good. It felt like coming home, and I know that sounds somewhat cliché. But I’ve never experienced that feeling of coming home in that sense. And I think that was the first time I could ever say it felt like coming home, and everything made sense again.
“I was in that system for eight years, and it is a completely different system from anything else. Nothing is like WWE, no locker room I’ve ever been in, and it just felt like this is what it’s supposed to be for me, you know?” he added.
