Saturday’s Royal Rumble was one of the most historic and exciting events of all time. Both Rumble matches delivered incredible thrills and advanced many feuds and storylines. - YEET! The Indianapolis crowd came unglued Saturday night as Jey Uso shocked the world to win the Men’s Royal Rumble. He outlasted twenty-nine other competitors, last eliminating the legend himself, John Cena, to claim victory. With that win, the man known as ‘Main Event’ has earned the right to main event on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. The choice is now his. Will he challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes or take one more shot at the man he almost defeated just over a week ago, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther?
- John Cena’s retirement tour almost kicked off in the largest way possible. He was moments away from locking in the main event at Wrestlemania before watching it slip away. Anyone who watched the post-show press conference saw he did not take this well. Still desiring the Mania main event, he entered himself into the upcoming Elimination Chamber match to give himself one more opportunity. With so many other big names coming up short at the Rumble, which ones will follow suit and also set their sights on the Chamber?
- The Women’s Royal Rumble match also created some headlines. Chief among them was returning superstar Charlotte Flair winning it all and she now has the same choice regarding her path to the main event at Wrestlemania. The signs point to her being on Smackdown and chasing Tiffany Stratton. So if that is the case, where will that leave RAW’s champion, Rhea Ripley? Will the Elimination Chamber light the way for her challenger? Or will one of the other headline-grabbing names from the Rumble match, like Alexa Bliss or Jordynne Grace, step forward?
