We are just hours away from WWE’s biggest event of the summer — and second biggest of 2025 — SummerSlam. This year’s event will get a WrestleMania-level card that will be split into two nights this weekend.
So, who will win some of the biggest matches at the event? We answer that with our definitive SummerSlam predictions for every single match going down in New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday night.
Gunther vs. CM Punk – World Heavyweight Championship Match

During recent editions of WWE Unreal, there were pitches in creative for CM Punk to win the Royal Rumble and at WrestleMania 41. Neither idea was used. That is why it feels like he gets a huge victory in the SummerSlam Night 1 main event.
Gunther being a champion feels right, but the World Heavyweight belt needs some fresh feuds and directions. Punk could certainly offer that for a few months. Furthermore, it seems like a strong possibility that Seth Rollins will cash in his Money in the Bank contract on his hated rival either at the event — if his injury is all a ruse — or when he returns to the ring in a few months.
Winner: Punk
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

Seth Rollins’ injury has forced some major changes to SummerSlam’s card. Roman Reigns was likely to face him at the event. However, he will now team up with cousin Jey Uso in a shoulder shrug tag match against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The two younger stars need the win more. However, Reigns has not gotten the upper hand in a match since ‘Mania, and Uso has taken some big losses recently. After Breakker and Reed had a big show of force on a recent episode of WWE Raw, the former Bloodline members winning seems like a lock.
Winners: Reigns and Uso
Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Championship Match

The WWE Women’s title match will be an early showcase of two stars that will be the anchors of the division for, possibly, the next decade. Both Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton haven’t even entered their prime as wrestlers, and they are already in the main event spotlight. However, Stratton’s title run has stagnated a bit, and it seems like a perfect time for a change at the top.
A case could be made that Cargill may not be ready for the top spot just yet. But the wrestling industry is all about throwing talent into the deep end and seeing if they can swim. Cargill has improved greatly in the ring since joining WWE and has a major it factor out of it. Now, is a good time to see if she can swim with the sharks.
Winner: Cargill
Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles – Intercontinental Title Match

The ongoing feud between AJ Styles and Dominik Mysterio has been one of the more entertaining on WWE Raw in recent weeks. The two have played off each other well and have delivered good segments that make this one of the more anticipated matches on SummerSlam Night 2. While many cheered for Mysterio and his Intercontinental title win at WrestleMania, that won’t be the case in New Jersey this weekend.
Fans are aware that Styles is closing in on the end of his career very soon. They will want him to get some big wins on the way out. Furthermore, Mysterio’s first IC title reign has run its course, and a change here makes sense. Especially if he will be busy with more frequent appearances for AAA in the weeks ahead.
Winners: Styles
Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez vs. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

One of the featured stories on SmackDown since WrestleMania has been the developing “friendship” between Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. SummerSlam 2025 is likely to be the payoff of the tale when the two win the women’s tag titles. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez retaining would not be a surprise. However, it seems more likely they drop the titles and continue the feud after this weekend.
Winners: Flair and Bliss
Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul

WWE’s continued heavy use of celebrities in the ring has started to receive pushback from diehard fans. Especially, after Travis Scott’s awkward appearances at Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania. However, country music star Jelly Roll has received positive responses from fans. Likely due to rumors, he is taking his wrestling debut seriously and is working hard to put on a good show this weekend.
Nevertheless, he and partner Randy Orton have consistently gotten the upper hand on Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre in the weeks leading up to the bout. That is why it is probable the heels get the win on Saturday. In the end, there is no benefit to having a celebrity and legend closing in on retirement getting the W other than producing a feel-good moment. Paul and McIntyre need, and should get the victory.
Winners: Paul and McIntyre
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross and Sami Zayn’s ongoing feud has delivered some good moments, but it needs a definitive end at WWE SummerSlam. This one could go either way. Kross should get the win, and the company should ride his recent momentum with fans. However, the latest reports have suggested his contract is still set to expire soon. Considering that fact, it seems probable that Kross does the honors in what could be his final match in WWE.
Winner: Zayn
Becky Lynch vs. Lyra – Women’s IC Title Match

A strong case could be made for either Becky Lynch or Lyra Valkyria to win their women’s IC title match at Summerslam. Lyra would seem like the odds-on favorite as the baby face who was screwed out of her title originally. Yet, a frustrated Bayley and a potential heel turn loom in the background.
Lynch does not need the IC belt, but she is an excellent heel and can help elevate the title further. Our gut tells us the future Hall of Famer retains the golddue to outside interference from Bayley on Sunday.
Winners: Lynch
Wyatt Sicks vs. #DIY vs. Street Profits vs. Fraxiom vs. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix -Tag Title TLC match

The WWE tag team title match on SummerSlam Night 2 should be pure chaos. It will feature six teams (12 participants) and likely some interference from allies. The match should deliver some violent moments, but it is unlikely to match classic TLC matches because it will have so many moving parts. In terms of who wins, this one really is wide open, and it could go a lot of ways.
However, with the company looking to push the Wyatt Sicks as the dominant force in the division, this match should end up as their first major successful title defense.
Winner: Wyatt Sicks
Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu – US Title Steel Cage Match

The United States title match between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu should be a rock-solid match on Sunday night. And with rumors that Fatu is being set up for a big push soon, it is likely the rivalry ends this weekend. The company’s big plans for Fatu won’t include the US title. Furthermore, it benefits Sikoa and his faction far more to hold on to the belt and take it into a fresh feud with someone else heading into the fall.
Winners: Sikoa
Naomi vs. Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Title Match

The Women’s World title match between Naomi, Iyo Sky, and Rhea Ripley has the potential to be the best match of either night at SummerSlam. Sky and Ripley are the two best women’s wrestlers on Earth, and Naomi is a rock-solid veteran with one of the more entertaining characters in the division right now.
Having Naomi lose the title so soon after winning it would be a major surprise. However, Ripley certainly could use a big win after some crushing setbacks of late. Yet, she is a performer at a level where she does not necessarily need a belt. Sky is not winning after a strong title run before and through WrestleMania.
Winner: Naomi
John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes WWE Title Street Fight

Many probably assume John Cena will hold on to the WWE title until his final match in December. However, after August, his schedule gets very thin. Making it harder to promote major title defenses when he is making fewer appearances. Furthermore, having Rhodes — the current face of the company — lose to him a second time and end another major two-night event would be a very surprising approach from the company.
It sure feels like a Rhodes revenge win is coming. The big question is, will the victory in their street fight be clean? Will there be others — like The Rock — that get involved? Could it potentially set up more breadcrumbs of a Rhodes turn down the line? Either way, we are excited to find out.
Winner: Rhodes
