After what transpired on the March 4th edition of RAW, we may have an update on WWE plans for The Miz and R-Truth.
Some of you might think this is obvious…but here it is.
According to the Wrestling Observer, any plans WWE might have had for The Miz, or even R-Truth, to take on GUNTHER?
Not anymore.
So, this to me is kind of a bit delayed.
As much as The Miz did challenge GUNTHER not that long ago…and I like what the Intercontinental Champion brought out of the A-Lister…can’t say I am shocked.
I was far more shocked that Jey Uso was passed over. Even though we all expect Jimmy versus Jey in Philadelphia, having Jey in the match next week was logical.
That match, of course, is a six Superstar gauntlet match.
Whomever wins gets GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40.
And yes, neither The Miz nor R-Truth got into the fun.
Update On WWE Plans For The Miz And R-Truth
In case you were wondering who does have a shot at the Intercontinental Champion?
JD McDonagh, Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura, Ricochet, Chad Gable and Sami Zayn.
Meltzer indicates in his report that WWE shifted from plans involving Miz and Truth in favor of “better talent.
I have to say I disagree, just from what I see on television and hear from the crowds.
Miz had his run. Truth against GUNTHER would largely be unrealistic.
However…Awesome Truth factoring into the tag title picture? Especially if Pearce and Aldis split the belts?
It makes a lot of sense, and we saw it teased in a backstage segment on this week’s RAW.
While it would not be as epic as Sami and KO winning the belts last year…it could still be a pretty amazing WrestleMania moment.
And the Philly fans? They would surely go crazy for it.
