There are endless WrestleMania moments that the company’s legion of fans fondly remembers. They made fans laugh, rage, and leap up in excitement. But only a few actually touched them deep in their soul. With that in mind, let’s look at the top 10 most emotionally charged Wrestlemania moments of all time.
10. WrestleMania 37 – Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair Headline
Considering how long WWE has been producing WrestleMania, there have been few black superstars to close the show. That changed during night one of WrestleMania 37 and it was the women who made history. Before the bell rang, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair were crying over the moment. While they were the second set of women to close the show, being black was something else. WWE needs more moments like this. Even if the match was not the best, they will forever be part of history.

9. WrestleMania 37 – Live Fans Return
I always knew that pro wrestling fans were important. Attending a show in person versus the TV is a major difference. Sitting from home is more comfortable, but nothing beats a stadium filled with 70,000 fans. Once the pandemic arrived, the fans were the first thing to go. For over a year, WWE had no real live fans and the product felt off. WrestleMania 37 opened with the roster greeting returning fans and they were the missing piece we needed.
8. WrestleMania 20 – Chris Benoit And Eddie Guerrero Close As Champions
Do not get me wrong, what Chris Benoit did was pure evil. Therefore, he deserves no recognition for any accomplishments he reached in his life. Still, WrestleMania 20 with Eddie Guerrero and Benoit inside the ring hugging is hard to forget. Confetti filled Madison Square Garden as tears flowed down faces. They both worked so hard dating back to WCW, where they were considered too small to be top dogs. Only a few years later both were gone.
7. WrestleMania 28 – The End Of An Era
Looking back at WrestleMania, Hulk Hogan was the theme for the 10 or so installments. Then, we started to see a new batch arrive as Hogan left for WCW. Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H became synonymous with the event. Michaels and Triple H tried to end the streak but to no avail.
That brought us to Hell in a Cell, which is a match Undertaker and Triple H know well. Michaels was the referee and with the odds stacked, Undertaker still emerged the victor. The three walked up the ramp together and embraced, signaling The End of an Era.

6. WrestleMania 7 – Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth Together Again
For a while, WWE put Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth together to much delight. They were married in real life and WWE also ran a wedding on pay-per-view. Jealousy saw Savage leave Miss Elizabeth, which allowed for Sherri Martel to become his manager. After losing his career to the Ultimate Warrior, Martel berated Savage. Miss Elizabeth made the save and the two embraced. It was one of the earliest WrestleMania moments that plays to the heart.
5. WrestleMania 35 – The Women Main Event For First Time
For most of WWE’s existence, they have focused on male superstars. They did let women wrestle but in usually one match. Once the Attitude Era arrived, WWE changed the direction of women. They became eye candy and fought in matches that went two minutes while involving pudding.
Did CM Punk And WWE Legend Booker T Nearly Have Backstage Altercation At Recent NXT Taping?
It changed about five years ago as women were better featured. This involved Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair being part of the first WrestleMania main event just for women (not counting the referee). Lynch won in a match that was not special inside the ring, but its history will live forever.
4. WrestleMania 30 – Daniel Bryan’s Yes Movement Prevail
The fans were really behind Daniel Bryan and the Yes Movement grew. WWE did not care as they brought Batista back to work with Randy Orton. Fans started highjacking shows and a change was needed. Bryan opened the card, pinning Triple H to advance to the main event. There, in a triple threat that also involved Orton, Bryan made Batista tap. In one night, Bryan defeated all of Evolution.

3. WrestleMania 30 – Brock Lesnar Ends Undertaker’s Streak
Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak might be the most impressive thing in pro wrestling. For 21 years, he entered and always walked away the victor. He pinned countless Hall of Fame names and the streak was a merchandising hit. Nobody could end that record, but then Vince McMahon made the call. Brock Lesnar pinned Undertaker, breaking the streak and hearts of many fans. After that, Undertaker competing at the show lost all its value. It was one of the most heartbreaking WWE WrestleMania moments for loyal fans.
2. WrestleMania 35 – KofiMania Popularity Explodes
Kofi Kingston has a WrestleMania story almost identical to Daniel Bryan’s. WWE never saw Kingston as world championship material. He would always be a hit with New Day and could win almost every title. And, he basically has captured every belt WWE offered.
Fans pushed for KofiMania and WWE eventually caved. They let Kington pin Bryan to win his only WWE Championship. The pop from the crowd was insane and watching his New Day brothers cry really sold the moment.
1. WrestleMania 24 – Shawn Michaels Retires Ric Flair
The storyline heading into the bout, was Ric Flair must retire upon losing his next match. For months, he kept his career alive. But, he wanted a massive challenge at WrestleMania. Thus, he challenged Mr. WrestleMania himself, Shawn Michaels. It took three finishers for Michaels to leave the winner, but he felt bad for ending Flair’s run (although he would end retirement rather quickly). Michaels told Flair, “I’m sorry; I love you” before hitting his final blow.
