Who Are WWE’s Fantastic Four? Looking at the Main Roster Stars That Mirror Marvel’s First Family

This week brings the release of the latest film based on Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four. The legendary comic book team brings together a unique quartet of super-powered individuals who are able to achieve unbelievable feats of heroism.

WWE is a real-life version of a comic book with special people doing superhuman-like things each week. But which members of the roster are like a pro wrestling version of the members from the icon team? We take a look at which current WWE stars most mirror the different characters in the Fantastic Four.

Mister Fantastic: Cody Rhodes

This is an easy one. Reed Richards, AKA Mister Fantastic, is a humble individual despite being one of the most powerful people — mostly with his mind — in the Marvel universe. He is also the public face of the team and one of the best leaders in comic books. Similar to WWE superstar Cody Rhodes.

The former WWE champ is certainly confident. But he is as respected and honorable a person as the industry currently has. Furthermore, Rhodes relishes being the QB1 of the top wrestling company in the world and is one of the smartest businessmen in the industry.

Invisible Woman: Iyo Sky

Susan Storm-Richards, AKA the Invisible Woman, is the heart of the Fantastic Four. Yet, while she can be humble like her husband Reed, she has a bit a fire similar to her brother Johnny that comes out on occasion. That sounds a lot like two-time women’s champion Iyo Sky.

She is, arguably, the best women’s wrestler on the planet and the heart of the division. Yet, while she often flashes her smile, she can get mean and feisty when pushed, just like Invisible Woman.

Johnny Storm: Carmelo Hayes

Johnny Storm, AKA The Human Torch, has always stood out in the Fantastic Four for his youthful exuberance, being a ladies’ man, and having a downright cocky attitude. That feels very much like SmackDown star Carmelo Hayes. The former NXT champ has unshakable confidence and certainly appeals to the other gender. However, like Storm, he is gifted with the potential to be far more impactful than he currently is.

The Thing: Jacob Fatu

Ben Grimm, AKA The Thing, is a classic tough guy more willing to throw punches first and ask questions later. And his iconic “It’s clobberin’ time” catchphrase is one of the most famous in comic history. There is no performer more willing to throw out a clobberin’ at will than former US Champ Jacob Fatu. While he seems like a monster, there is a calculated mind underneath his intimidating exterior. Much like the Fantastic Four’s resident monster.
