Cody Rhodes is WWE’s biggest and most profitable baby face right now. However, the time might be ticking on his good-guy era. And Rhodes only fanned the flames of an eventual heel turn with new comments about the topic last week.
Cody Rhodes Claims a Heel Turn is on the Horizon

In a conversation with Kay Adams at Fanatics Fest, “The American Nightmare” stated, “I think you’ve got a good solid year, maybe even three years, because I’m not changing until I’m changed. My hair is naturally dark. I don’t know if I can go back. But if The Rock had it his way, I would’ve been changed already. So I think he sees something I don’t see, and that’s a very smart individual—so maybe I follow his lead.”
Rhodes believes that fans crave something new from time to time. With the former Undisputed WWE Champion claiming a heel turn is inevitable, here are three ways he and WWE can benefit from an evil-Cody.
Revamp His Look to Fit the Direction Change

When Rhodes began his tenure in AEW, he revamped his look, adopting the blond hair from his father and brother. This marked the start of a new run for him, which ultimately led to major success. “The American Nightmare” could retake a similar step after he turns heel to present himself differently, possibly going back to his dark hair days to fit the bill.
Blockbuster Dream Matches with Cody Rhodes Playing Villain

Much like John Cena is doing now, Cody Rhodes can find himself in a similar spot after turning heel. The role could be reversed in numerous WWE television storylines. This could see highly entertaining matches for Rhodes against the likes of CM Punk, Jey Uso, and even Roman Reigns to produce fresh and fascinating storylines.
Rise of the Next Babyface to Fill the Void

Rhodes replaced Cena as the biggest baby face to lead the charge in WWE. When the time comes for him to embrace the dark side, it would open the opportunity for the next rising star or figure to replace him in that role. One name can be his close ally Jey Uso, who has become one of the company’s most popular stars. Another possibility could be rising stars like Bron Breakker or Jacob Fatu, as well as established stars on the fringe of the main event scene, such as Damian Priest and LA Knight.
