WWE star Sonya Deville is starting 2024 on a very good note. According to a report, her gun charge from earlier this year has been resolved. More on this story, below.
Sonya Deville Resolves Her Gun Charge
Deville, whose real name is Daria Bernato, was arrested earlier in 2023 when police found a firearm in her car. The arrest occurred in the state of New Jersey, but she only had a permit for it in the state of Florida.
Due to the charge, Bernato faced one count of unlawful weapon possession (a handgun without a permit). However, the good news is, the WWE talent has resolved the charge.
As per the Courrier Post, Bernato was able to do this by completing a six-month pretrial intervention program. She was approved to enter the program by Superior Court Judge Bernard in May and was finished by late November.
Sonya Deville’s Traumatic Stalker Event
For fans who recall, Bernato was a victim of a home invasion in 2020. Philip A. Thomas II illegally entered her home while she and (then) fellow WWE star Mandy Rose were there.
Thomas had duct tape, plastic zip ties, mace, and a knife. He intended to kidnap Bernato.
Not only did he break into her home, but he had also been stalking her for months on social media with threatening messages. The 24-year-old was charged with attempted armed kidnapping, aggravated stalking, criminal mischief, and armed burglary of a dwelling.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to all charges. At least, Sonya Deville received some justice for this.
The WWE star is currently out of action, suffering from a torn ACL in August. She’s expected to return sometime within the next nine months to a year.
