This year’s SummerSlam event takes place at the Ford Field Arena in Detroit, Michigan. As not only a WWE fan but a Hall of Famer and fellow Detroiter, Kid Rock is set to participate in festivities, this coming Saturday.
Kid Rock Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam
Kid Rock has massive ties to the WWE and Detroit, which makes it no shocker that he’ll be a part of this year’s Big Party of the Summer in some capacity. WrestleVotes, a wrestling spoiler handle on Twitter recently revealed some big news.
As you can see, Kid will be part of this year’s “cold open” video package for the event. It was not mentioned as to whether or not he’d physically be at the event.
With that said, the musician has been to live events in the past. Only time will tell.
It was also not revealed which one of Kid Rock’s songs would be used. The singer has an extensive music catalog, so it’ll be interesting to see what the company moves forward with.
Kid Rock has a long musical history with the WWE. The company used his songs “New Orleans” and “Celebrate” as theme songs for WrestleMania 30 and 34.
The Undertaker used his 2000 song “American Bad Ass” as his entrance music during a time when he would drive his motorcycle to the ring. He also covered ZZ Top’s song, “Legs” for Stacy Keibler during the Attitude Era.
Not to mention the fact that he performed a string of his hits at WM 25 (in Detroit) amidst all the Divas during that time, as they walked down to the ring for their Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal. As such, it makes it no shocker that in 2018, The Kid was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame.
