One of my favorite pay-per-views of the year is undoubtedly the Royal Rumble. For anyone who is a big fan of the Royal Rumble, there is brilliant news! Today, the WWE has announced the arrival of “The Greatest Royal Rumble,” a ground-breaking live event that will take place in Saudi Arabia. The show will be the biggest non-Wrestlemania event in WWE’s history! Here is the story!
The Biggest Royal Rumble Match Ever!
As the title of this upcoming event indicates, the Greatest Royal Rumble will also be the biggest. In the past, the maximum amount of wrestlers in a Royal Rumble event was 40. Now, the WWE is surpassing that record by allowing 50 wrestling superstars to enter!
One of the things that excite me most is the fact we already had a Rumble this year. I hate the fact I have to wait an entire year for another, so this Greatest Royal Rumble is a welcome surprise indeed. Of course, the WWE must be careful, because holding the Rumble too often could make the event less special.
The Greatest Royal Rumble will take place on April 27, which is a Friday. Tickets for the event in Saudi Arabia will be made available this week. The same applies to the broadcast information for the event.
Seven Championship Matches
It isn’t just a 50 man Greatest Rumble, every male main roster title will be defended at the show as well.
Following an agreement between His Excellency Turki Al Sheikh and WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia invites the world to the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. AST to celebrate the Greatest Royal Rumble event in WWE history. Tickets will be available Saturday, March 31, and this historic event will feature seven championship matches, including the WWE Championship, Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship, United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Championship, SmackDown Tag Team Championship and Cruiserweight Championship.
Who Will Participate in the Greatest Royal Rumble?
The WWE has yet to release the prize for the winner of the Greatest Royal Rumble. Still, it is common for the Rumble to have surprise entrants that are not necessarily on the roster.
Even though there is no official participant list yet, there are some WWE superstars mentioned as entrants on the WWE website; this includes John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, the New Day, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
