A match for Trish Stratus and Lita was in the works, but is now delayed. Also, WWE is interested in a ‘much bigger’ free agent than Jay White.

Trish Stratus & Lita Return Delayed

The February 6 edition of RAW saw Becky Lynch and Bayley continue their feud inside a Steel Cage. Lynch walked away the victor after a surprise appearance by Lita.

Lita showing-up at the end of RAW was certainly surprising. She had been spotted backstage earlier in the show, but that was common.

Most believed she was simply there to visit. So, when she helped Lynch, who she feuded with briefly, people were questioning the move.

WWE had bigger plans for Lita as apparently Trish Stratus was supposed to also be involved. The idea was Lynch, Lita and Stratus would wrestle Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY).

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported how Stratus was supposed to be on RAW earlier in the week. Due to Kai suffering a legitimate injury, plans were temporarily scrapped.

It sounds like a six-woman tag team match was going to take place at tomorrow’s Elimination Chamber. Obviously, that is now off.

Although, WWE still plans to move-forward with the match. A timeframe is not known, but WrestleMania 39 could be the place.

The biggest obstacle with that show is Kai and SKY are scheduled to face Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. The match should be confirmed shortly.

With WrestleMania being two nights, WWE could have Kai and SKY work both evenings.

Lita worked a WWE match last year, where he she lost to Lynch from Saudi Arabia. Stratus has not wrestled since losing to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019.

Former Bullet Club leader and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White is a free agent. Now, people want to know if he joins WWE, AEW or Impact Wrestling.

At the moment, WWE might not be the direction. Dave Meltzer noted how WWE is looking at signing a bigger free agent.

No name was discussed on who that could be, but Kota Ibushi is also a free agent. Perhaps, a major star in AEW will have their contract up soon and make the jump to WWE.

White was recently defeated in a loser leaves Japan match. After the match, he noted he how will not wrestle for NJPW shows that take place in Japan, but that does not include shows from other countries.

Although, White and Eddie Kingston will wrestle at Battle in the Valley on February 18 from California. Both agreed to a stipulation, where the loser will never wrestle for NJPW again.

White has appeared briefly for AEW and Impact Wrestling over the past two years. When it comes to leverage and money, AEW has that over Impact Wrestling.
