If you want Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble, the odds might have just shifted in your favor.
TMZ is reporting that Triple H had a covert dinner with Rousey and her agent, Brad Slater, at Republique in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. And while it could have just been a get together between friends, the timing is notable: Triple H skipped the SmackDown Live taping across the country in Birmingham to attend the dinner, and he’s typically present for all live TV tapings.
TMZ attempted to ask about Rousey’s potential future in WWE as they left the restaurant, but her agent just shrugged. Watch the video below.
So how likely is it that Rousey will be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble? It’s hard to say. Pro Wrestling Sheet previously reported that she is scheduled to be filming a Mark Wahlberg movie in Colombia while the Rumble is happening. However, that hasn’t stopped people from assuming she’ll make an appearance: betting odds give Rousey a 4/7 chance, or -175, of being a surprise entrant.
Unsurprisingly, people have some pretty strong feelings about Rousey being in the first-ever 30-woman Royal Rumble match. Some think it would be a great move:
people actually don’t want Ronda Rousey in the Women’s Royal Rumble match….. like really?

If Ronda Rousey wins the Royal Rumble then I give up.

Others still have floated the horrific theory that the women’s Royal Rumble match was only created for Rousey’s benefit:
This women’s royal rumble is all set up just for Ronda Rousey to be entrant #30 and win.

I’m not as in touch with it as I used to be but all logic says that the only reason there’s a women’s Royal Rumble is to introduce Ronda Rousey and at 2/1 she’s a steal to win

There are going to be a lot of upset people if that’s true, yours truly included. Whether she shows up at the Rumble or not, it seems inevitable that Rousey will wind up in WWE – and how they handle it will be absolutely crucial. In my opinion, turning her into the female Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar is not the way to do it.
