Now that the former apple of his eye has gone back home to WWE…Tony Khan speaks about CM Punk.
Kind of. Like, barely at all, really.
Yes, we are doing a news piece on a massive no comment. But this was perhaps one of the comments many fans really wanted to see.
Does WWE Have A CM Punk Problem?
Following Punk’s surprise appearance at Survivor Series on Saturday, the man behind AEW was asked for his thoughts on the move.
And, it was frankly a massive nothingburger. Or…was it?
When asked, Tony Khan said he couldn’t talk about it at this point, and given he’s focused on the way-in-advance ticket sales for the 2024 edition of All In, it wasn’t the time or place.
And, most significantly, he blamed the no comment on the lawyers.
Now, there are many reasons why you’d say that, but two come to mind (and I am not a lawyer).
Tony Khan Speaks About CM Punk
One reason you might say that you legally can’t is if there remains some pending litigation of some sort.
Another reason could be if you signed a Non-disclosure agreement.
So, with CM Punk now setting WWE ratings on fire, and as AEW’s slowly sink…is Khan’s no-comment because of one or both of those reasons?
And if so…will Punk be handcuffed by those same reasons?
The Second City Saint has been advertised for the November 27 edition of RAW.We should not have to wait long to find out.
One of the more outspoken talents there is, Punk is always happy to speak his mind.
It would not shock anyone if he stood and threw shade at AEW. But if legal is involved, it won’t surprise me if he doesn’t.
After all, Punk seems to be heading for a clash with Seth Rollins. There ought to be plenty of material from recent years to go over.
As much as plenty of fans likely want to hear him just rip into the other promotion…there’s so much history with Rollins that, if that is his first feud…Punk won’t have to.
Not yet, anyways. But I’d bet once WWE legal approves, we might get an all new Punk pipebomb.
