The Rock seemingly issued an open challenge to Roman Reigns, so it is any closer to becoming an official WWE WrestleMania 40 match?
The Rock Vs Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 40 Official?
WWE hyped a major name for RAW and they delivered with The Rock. And, he did a lot with a promo.
For the most part, the lengthy promo hit the major points. In closing, The Rock asked the crowd if he should sit at the head of the table.
Clearly, he was taking a direct shot Roman Reigns. For some time, WWE has tried to piece that match together.
So far, no luck. Although, what The Rock said on RAW got plenty of people talking.Â
And, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is not official. Therefore, both remain open for WrestleMania 40.
The hesitation in booking such a bout would be on The Rock’s end. Hollywood is always calling and they do not want to risk any injury inside a ring delaying a movie.
About a decade ago, The Rock did briefly return to WWE. He worked with John Cena and they headlined a pair of WrestleManias.Â
During the second meeting, “The Great One” was hurt and it did effect his filming. Hence, those in Hollywood have a good point.
As of Reigns, he has toppled every challenge put in his way. His current heel run will be remembered in history for what he accomplished.
If The Rock is looking for one more match before retirement from pro wrestling, nothing is bigger than Reigns. In all likelihood, Reigns keeps the titles as The Rock puts over his family.
Who knows, as there is still the Elimination Chamber from Australia later in the year.
So, The Rock vs Roman Reigns sounds like it would make WrestleMania 40 the biggest show of the year. Can WWE somehow pull off what has been impossible?
