Nikki & Brie Bella’s Thoughts On Vince McMahon Allegations

The wrestling world was rocked on January 25th when news surfaced about a lawsuit filed against the WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis. Filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, it accuses VKM of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and emotional abuse.

Vince has since denied the allegations. Nikki and Brie Garcia, formerly known as the Bella Twins hopped on social media to release a joint statement.

In the social media post they write, “We are shocked and disheartened with the recent allegations against members of the WWE. It has been a lot to process since we found out this past week just as you all did. This is something we don’t stand for or condone from anyone no matter who they are. We want all women to feel safe and supported in the workplace and in their everyday lives.”

It’s important to note that John Laurinaitis is the twins’ stepfather. He married their mom, Kathy Laurinaitis, in March 2016.

The Bellas signed with the WWE in 2007, debuting on the main roster in 2008. Their unique “twin magic” gimmick was highly entertaining.

During their tenure, they collectively held the Divas title three times. Brie had one run over the years, while Nikki had two.

They were released briefly in 2012 but made a return in 2013 and were featured in the series Total Divas and Total Bellas. They introduced a whole new audience to the WWE and women’s wrestling with these reality TV shows.

The twins were also inducted into the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame. In March 2023, the Bellas announced their departure from the company.

Both dropped “Bella” from their last names after leaving the WWE. They now go by Nikki and Brie Garcia.

Meanwhile, the WWE fired Laurinaitis in July of 2022. It was due to the Board’s investigation of sexual misconduct and hush money allegations brought forth against Vince McMahon earlier that year.
