It isn’t the first time for this person, but once again a Superstar gets an unexpected name change.

And unlike the last time, this one is a bit of a bigger head scratcher.

On top of this, this Superstar only just returned to the main roster and got inserted into one of the hotter feuds in the company.

Humberto Carillo, along with Angel Garza, had spent a bit of time down in NXT. They very recently returned to the main roster to provide backup to Santos Escobar.

Together, that trio has formed the revamped Legado del Fantasma, and actually got a fourth in Elektra Lopez recently.

But, the tag team known as Los Lotharios will no longer be Humberto and Angel.

Instead, it will be Berto and Angel.

Just because Vince McMahon is finally gone, does not mean some inexplicable name changes are too.

Now, a while back, the former Humberto Carillo had undergone another name change.

Way back when, it was the in thing in WWE to have talent drop down to a single name. As such, he dropped Carillo and just became Humberto.

Eventually he got the last name back…but not anymore.

Now, he has slashed the last name and a portion of the first name as well.

Meaning one of Santos Escobar’s henchmen is now to be known as…Berto.

Thus far, there’s been no indication for why anyone would make this name change, especially following Berto’s previous changes.

The only things I could even think about? Perhaps Berto requested the change?

Or maybe someone suggested it because it means both tag team partners would go by a two syllable first name?

Which, to be honest, would be a really weird reason to change the name, but here we are with Berto regardless.
