Bo Bassett is one of the most sought-after wrestling recruits in recent years. The senior recently trimmed his list of schools still in the running to a baker’s dozen.
Bassett, the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2026, paid a visit to Ohio State wrestling. After that, he cut the potential list of programs he will sign with to 13. Bassett has upcoming visits to Penn State and Iowa on the schedule.

“I had an amazing week of training and this past weekend we were in Columbus, Ohio at Ohio State,” Bassett wrote on his newsletter. “Coach Tom Ryan was there to pick us up. My brother and I went to RTC workouts and got a good workout right out of the gate. After the workout we sat down with their while resource team, which was great. This meeting was very good and I learned a lot about the program.
“On Sunday, we all went to church together. I may have been to the most amazing church in my life. We went to Rock City church and before the service we got to talk and hang with the pastor. He was an amazing person and loved wrestling.”
Bo Bassett drops Nebraska from list of schools still in contention for him
Bassett made it known that one Big Ten school is no longer in the running for his service. He announced that Nebraska has been eliminated from consideration.
“I always like to do things a little differently and most importantly have fun with things,” Bassett said. “I worked my whole life in wrestling and am going to enjoy this process. This week I had to take Nebraska off the list. They are a great program with a top notch coaching staff.”
Schools that remain on the list for Bassett include Penn State, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Cornell, Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, Iowa State, Pitt-Johnstown, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Northern Iowa and Missouri. The list reads as one with all the top programs in the country.
Bassett has now made official visits to Iowa City, Happy Valley and Columbus. He has trips scheduled this month to Virginia Tech and Oklahoma State, with Rutgers coming in 2025.
