Despite having the experience, some feel Stephanie McMahon is weak. Also, Chris Jericho on possibly wrestling in another barbed wire match.

Stephanie McMahon Seen As Weak

Before Vince McMahon retired from WWE, Stephanie McMahon went on what was supposed to be a long hiatus. Some said they were not happy with her performance, but that has all changed.

With Vince out of the picture, Stephanie and Nick Khan are the intern CEOs. Also, Triple H now oversees all of creative.

As for the past criticism of Stephanie, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter described how she was seen as weak in sales and partnerships

“This was noted internally as a weakness (this is what the leaked stories months ago buried Stephanie for being weak at), and it was a category where UFC far outdistanced WWE in when both companies otherwise are pretty comparable”

They used the UFC for example. While both business should have similar numbers, apparently the UFC was doing better and Stephanie took the blame.

Soon rather than later, WWE will need to make a final decision on the CEO. They can keep two, give sole power to one person or form a board.

Chris Jericho – Barbed Wire

Chris Jericho has been wrestling for decades and shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, he seems to get better with age.

Last month, Jericho compete in AEW’s first Barbed Wire Everywhere Match. Basically, like the name states, barbed wire was placed around the ringside area.

As expected, there was blood. Jericho bladed, but also suffered more damage with a broken nose.

His opponent, Eddie Kingston, also took some nasty bumps. Although, he seemed to walk away from the match much better than Jericho.

Their match was the headliner for Fyter Fest Week 2.

It marked the second time Jericho competed in a barbed wire match, with the first one being 30 years ago. Going forward, Jericho is content to avoid such a match in the future.

“I have stitches actually on my inner thigh, which I’ve never had before and is a little too close for comfort,” said Jericho on Absolute Geek podcast. “It was pretty brutal, but that’s kind of what we do.”

“It happens sometimes. I think everyone enjoyed it and those types of matches are good for the wrestling business because people get a little bit too ‘oh, it’s not real,’ and someone gets cut on barbed wire and it changes people’s perception.”

“It’s good to do that once in awhile. Will I ever have another barbed wire match? I’d like to say no.”

“I’ve had two in my career, 30 years a part. Maybe in another 30 years I’ll have another one.”

Jericho is now focused on interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at Quake By The Lake on Wednesday. Remember, Moxley defeated Jericho a few years back to capture the title for the first time.
