-In recent weeks, reports have been rampant about Superstars being unhappy and requesting their releases from their contracts. While some reports have not been confirmed, the Superstars rumored to have asked for their release includes, but is not limited to: The Revival and Mike and Maria Kanellis.
Alongside those requests, rumors had been swirling that big names like Jimmy and Jey Uso could be planning on exiting the company when their contracts expire this year.
All that is on top of the news, already officially confirmed by WWE, that Dean Ambrose will not be re-signing with WWE, and will instead leave the company once his contract expires following WrestleMania.
With All Elite Wrestling becoming a real force in the wrestling industry, having scooped up a number of key free agents (Jericho, Omega, The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, for example), more release requests are, quite frankly, inevitable.
Now, we have our latest requested release, and this one is absolutely not a rumor.
PWInsider is reporting that, following this week’s SmackDown Live, none other than Tye Dillinger requested his release from the company. Dillinger only recently was cleared to return from his time off due to a hand injury that did require surgery.
It had been reported here recently that Tye Dillinger actually requested a return to NXT, as opposed to returning from injury and heading right back to the main roster. Dillinger was asked about the chance to return to NXT by a fan on social media, and Dillinger himself responded, stating he had asked to go back to NXT and had been shot down.

While Dillinger was a massive fan favorite towards the end of his NXT run, he was never able to reproduce that level of success on the main roster. It will be interesting to see how WWE handles this, as recently they’ve not displayed a willingness to grant releases.
