SmackDown In A Nutshell: What Next For The Bloodline?

We have ourselves a significant SmackDown in a Nutshell, with one major question looming. What is next for the Bloodline?

Simple question, really. After the shocking end to last Saturday’s Royal Rumble, what is next for the Bloodline?

We saw Sami Zayn save Kevin Owens…sort of. Zayn was given a chair, and instead of hitting a broken KO, he gave it to Roman Reigns‘ back instead.

On top of that, Jey Uso bailed out of the ring in the midst of things and has basically said he’s done. Perhaps Sami did what Jey wished he had?

No matter what, we are all wondering what happens next for the Bloodline.

It is WrestleMania season, after all…and there’s one more big show before it.

We know what time it is…

SmackDown In A Nutshell: What Next For The Bloodline?

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!

Best Match of the night:

I liked Charlotte and Sonya Deville, legit.

However, I can’t say I envision Sonya-and others-as ready to wear the top belt.

This is another great reason why the RAW and SmackDown women need…and deserve…a mid-tier belt.

In 2023, with the depth the roster has, there’s just no reason for there not to be.

The #1 contender tag match was also quite enjoyable.

Worst match of the night:

I don’t think I have one tonight.

Crowd Chants of the Night:

The crowd was hot for Sami and Jey.

They got one of the two.

My wonder now? When will Jey return?

Like, does WWE wait until Elimination Chamber and have him interfere to help Sami?

Star of the Night

Sami got the huge pop, so he’s my main focus.

Yes, overall, still the Bloodline. But Sami is the draw now.

Spot of the Night:

I will take Zayn’s spear of Reigns, if only for that insane pop.

Jobber of the Night:

Nothing sticking out to me.

Upset of the Night:

While I understand the idea of giving her a hometown spot, seeing Natalya win to get into the Chamber was my upset of the show.

Yes, it makes sense. No, I don’t hate it.

Just…not who I expected there.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

I think this will do just fine.

Botch of the night:

Nothing comes to mind.

LOL Moment of the night:

The NASCAR segment. Rey talking about smacking Dom like when he was 3?

But, I saw this segment coming and I expected nothing.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Noteworthy Moment:

Can’t say I expected Strowman and Ricochet to win and get a title shot.

Now, yes, they are rolling and it could be the 2023 version of RKBro.

But, are they really just going into the title match next week because losing won’t mean much to these guys?

And…with no Jey this week…will Jimmy be going solo in that defense?

Overall lowlights:

I have nothing to complain about, really.

Like, I half expected us to see Jey before Sami, but I am glad we didn’t see both (and, no KO…he’s gotta sell that beating).

Overall highlights:

Big tag title match next week.

Bigger WWE Universal Championship match at Elimination Chamber, with Sami battling Roman.

I feel like that is exactly a match that WWE wishes only had a single belt involved…

After the final bell:

All in all, a nice show to come after the eventful Royal Rumble from last weekend.

With Jey not being there, and the Usos having a tag title defense next week, WWE gets to string that drama along for at least another week.

Like, would they have Jey no-show again? And if so, do we see Solo Sikoa step in for his brother?

Considering the rumor was Usos-Zayn/Owens for WrestleMania, I feel like they won’t drop the titles now.

But…if those rumors were wrong…what if Jey really is done (for now, per the story).

Either way, next week should be a good show. With a couple weeks until Elimination Chamber hits Montreal, things will heat up.

And from there…it’s WrestleMania.
