This past weekend’s inaugural AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view (PPV) was quite an event. Unfortunately, a report reveals that star Sammy Guevara suffered an injury during a match he had at the show.
Sammy Guevara Injury Update
The AEW star was originally going to team up with Konosuke Takeshita and face off against Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho on this week’s Dynamite, which took place in Stockton, California. Sadly, he was replaced by Kyle Fletcher as he was not cleared to compete.
During a recent installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about his injury. According to Meltzer, he is dealing with a concussion he suffered during AEW’s WrestleDream event.
Dave isn’t sure how long the AEW star will be out of action due to the injury. Only time will tell.
As most fans know, concussions are a tricky injury. Sometimes they can take weeks to get over, and then sometimes it can take months.
Regardless, on behalf of everyone here, we wish him a speedy recovery. Here’s hoping he lands back in action, very soon.
The talent recently turned on Jericho during the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam special in September. He ended up facing (and pinning) his former friend in a trios bout at WrestleDream, scoring the win for him and his teammates IWGP United State Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay and Takeshita.
Is Edge The 1st Of Many To Leave WWE?
The three faced off against the team of Jericho, along with Kota Ibushi, and Omega. Sammy is now aligned with the Don Callis Family stable, and Callis announced he was not medically cleared to perform in the match, last night during Dynamite.
He would introduce Fletcher as Takeshita’s replacement partner. However, the duo ended up losing to Chris and Kenny.
Still, after the match, Don distracted Omega and Jericho. Powerhouse Hobbs entered the picture and attacked the other two.
