Especially when high school super prospect Bo Bassett is still available. The 17-year-old from Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Pennsylvania is one of the most coveted prospects in the nation despite only being a junior. This week, he revealed some new details on his recruitment process as interested schools made home visits.

“When it’s all said and done, I want to know I made the right choice for my future and don’t ever have to second guess,” Bassett said in a newsletter post this week. “Some wrestlers only look at a few schools and that’s all they need to make a good choice. I like to learn as much as I can about the programs I think could be a great fit for myself and maybe my brothers.

“What I found is most of the top programs have everything you could ever imagine to be great at wrestling, they all have passionate staffs, all have very similar visions & goals, unreal resources, and support staffs in place, and all seem to really care about their wrestlers,” he added. “These visits were supposed to make picking a school easier and might have made it even harder.”

One3.com reports that there are still 18 teams in the running for the U20 World Bronze Medalist. They include Penn State, Ohio State, and Iowa. The reigning national champions are sure to have a huge advantage due to the elite pedigree of the school and he would get to stay close to home if joined the Nittany Lions.
