One of the nicest surprises at this year’s Royal Rumble was the unexpected return of Pat McAfee at the announcer’s table. With that said, it sounds like the WWE is hoping he’ll wrestle again, soon.
Pat McAfee To Wrestle Again
The WWE Universe (including Michael Cole) was shocked this past Saturday when McAfee made his way down the ramp to rejoin the color commentators during the 2023 Royal Rumble. Pat has been missing on WWE TV due to ESPN College GameDay commitments.

Fightful’s Sean Sapp recently reported that WWE officials are also hoping McAfee will return to in-ring action sometime soon now that he’s back with the company. But will that happen?
Will Pat McAfee Wrestle Again?
As he confirmed himself, Pat was originally pitched for a spot in the Royal Rumble. With that said, with football season just wrapping up, he realized he wasn’t going to be in proper shape to enter the match.
He ended up on color commentary, so he’s clearly waiting for the right opportunity and opponent. Could this happen at WrestleMania 39?
Pat McAfee started appearing as a pre-show analyst for the WWE during NXT TakeOver events in 2018. During his time at NXT, he even had a little feud with Adam Cole.
In April 2021, McAfee moved to the SmackDown announce tables, alongside Michael Cole. He even jumped into the ring for last year’s WrestleMania.
He faced (and defeated) Austin Theory. After the match, He was a part of an interesting WM spot where he was “saved” by Stone Cold Steve Austin from a beatdown by Theory and Vince McMahon.
Over to more WWE news, The Good Brothers made a shocking and splashing WWE return in 2022. But, what’s the status of their contracts?
Good Brothers WWE Contracts
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson first entered the WWE in 2016. Sadly, they were released in 2020 with a slew of other superstars due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since their return, there’s been a ton of speculation about the Good Brothers and their contracts. According to Fightful Select, the duo has signed a long-term deal with the WWE.
In fact, many of the recently returned superstars have signed three-year deals. However, the Good Brothers inked five-year contracts.
Why The Longer Contracts?
As per the report, Gallows and Anderson were given longer contracts than the others because Triple H felt bad about their release in 2020. He helped negotiate their decision to stay with the WWE, back in 2019.
The deal prompted the two to stay with the WWE versus going to AEW, Impact, or NJPW. Needless to say, it makes sense why HHH would feel bad and the need to extend their contracts.
Fans expecting a short run from the Good Brothers this time around should note that this won’t be the case. Looks like they’ll be with the WWE until late 2027.
During their first run with the WWE, they became RAW Tag Team Champions, twice. After they left in 2020, the tag team signed with Impact Wrestling and ended up becoming three-time Impact World Champions.
They also worked with AEW and NJPW during their time away from WWE. Here’s hoping this next run with the company will be just as successful as their last.
