Aldis has wrapped up his time with Impact following this past weekend’s Slammiversary and subsequent television tapings that happened on Sunday. He’s now officially a free agent, and a report reveals the WWE is interested in him.
WWE Has A Role In Mind For Aldis
According to PW Insider, the promotion has a major interest in Aldis, but not as a talent. They are hoping to bring him in as a producer-agent.
There’s the belief that the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion could start with the WWE as early as August for a trial process. This is the second time in 2023 that the company has wanted Aldis.
Initially, they pursued him as an in-ring competitor, earlier this year. This was before he signed a short-term deal with Impact.
There’s no word on why the WWE wants him now for a backstage role, versus onscreen talent. In fact, the report notes that the “shift” in intent from the company seems like a bit of a mystery.
The report also reveals that it is not known if he would be interested in a producer-agent role, versus in-ring action. Only time will tell if the former Impact talent accepts a job with the WWE.
