MJF Gives AEW Negative Mainstream Press
One simple hand gesture by MJF has given AEW more press than they could have ever imagined.
The wrestler, also known as Maxwell Jacob Friedman, flipped off a seven-year-old boy in front of his father during a recent Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo event.

While nothing bigger came about it, the father, Tom Gilmartin, has called out MJF for his actions. Cody Rhodes, one of the main figureheads of All Elite Wrestling serving as vice president, has responded by telling the parent he should have known what to expect.
DISCLAIMER: if you have a meet/greet or inquire media wise for MJF, you’ll get MJF,” Rhodes said. “Talent have freedom of expression, so please don’t think anybody is going to act any different than they do on TV.”
TMZ, one of the bigger gossip sites in the world, has picked up on the story. MJF released a statement stating “(Expletive) them kids.”
“We reached out to MJF for comment and got back this 3-word statement — “F**k them kids.”https://t.co/HlHxjSrQSm

Gilmartin said that he “tried to laugh it off knowing he’s just in character, but it really upset him. I know that’s his gimmick but he’s only seven and doesn’t understand.” He added that his son is being mocked online.
This is not the first time that MJF has upset parents and fans. Another incident was caught on camera in 2019 and released on Twitter.

Cody Rhodes Offers Family Free Tickets
Rhodes has since offered Gilmartin and his son tickets for the next time AEW is “in your neighborhood” adding he is “sorry about the situation.”
Hey Tom. Just give me your name and city and we will have some will-call tickets for the next time we are in your neighborhood, plus I’ll personally come by and say hello during the show.

Rhodes also confirmed that it was a “paid meet/greet” event and not one where “we would send MJF on a free publicity activation for this very reason, he’s immature and doesn’t represent the brand.”

Sandman Drunken Rant
Former ECW star The Sandman is being accused of going on a drunken rant that ended with a botched finish.
Atomic Revolutionary Wrestling released a statement saying that the ECW legend “went off-script and not only botched the finish and cut a match short but proceeded to cut an unscripted promo under the influence of alcohol.”
The match took place late in February from the Space Coast Convention Center in Cocoa, Florida and featured a four-way bout between Sandman, Shannon Moore, Chico Adams and Vertigo.

According to a post by the promotion, the bout was scheduled for 15 minutes, but Sandman ended it in less than three before taking the microphone. ARW has released footage of the incident and the promoter also claims Sandman was “sexually harassing some of the women wrestlers and insulting the talent on the card.”
This is hardly the first time Sandman has been involved in such a matter. Current IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace has called him out in the past.

In conclusion, The Sandman’s drinking continues to cause problems. The lesson here, be careful when booking The Sandman.
