Mickie James is in the middle of her farewell tour & has three opponents she wants to wrestle. And, good news about Jay Briscoe’s daughters.
Mickie James – Farewell Tour
Mickie James has been wrestling since 1999. Over those several decades, she became a staple for WWE and Impact Wrestling.
She is currency part of Impact Wrestling, where she is in her fifth reign as Women’s Champion. Leading-up to her latest win, she put her career on the line.
Basically, James is taking part a farewell tour. At 43 years old, she has seemingly wrestled many of the top draws.
While on “Busted Open Radio, James wants to wrestle names she never got the chance. In particular, she listed Mercedes Moné, Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter
“You talk about that match with Sasha, that’s one match we never got at WWE,” said James. “We never had a singles match and it’s one thing we always wanted.”
“With her at Stardom and New Japan, that opportunity to be able to finally have that singles match that we both always wanted would be incredible. To be able to go against someone at AEW, that’s a door I’ve never walked through before.”
Mickie James Interested In Two AEW Names
“But a Britt Baker or Jamie Hayter, she’s the champ, I love Jamie Hayter. I saw her in England for 1PW when I wrestled out there. She’s fantastic.”
“Or someone like Jade Cargill, who’s an anomaly. She’s an attraction.”
“That would be two parallel universes, two different worlds colliding. That would be so cool.”
If Impact Wrestling gives the okay, some of those matches are doable. Whatever happens, James is not worried about wins or losses at this point in her career.
“I want to go out in a blaze of glory,” said James. “It’s not about wins or losses, obviously, I want to be a champion’s champion.”
“I don’t want to lose, but to be able to have the opportunity to test myself against a whole new class of women when there’s opportunities now that were never available before, it’s exciting. It’s so exciting, and it would be a really good, not only wrap-up to my career or whatever that is, but for this title run to be really, really special for me and for the fans.”
From the beginning, James has always been a solid competitor who delivers. If she has a list of names she wants to meet before calling it a career, hopefully some sort of deal can be made.
Jay Briscoe’s Daughters Improving
A few days ago, tragedy struck the pro wrestling world. Jay Briscoe (real name Jamin Pugh) was involved in a car accident.
The drivers from both vehicles did not survive the wreck. Both of Pugh’s daughters were also involved and badly injured.
Thankfully, they are doing better, but they have a long road to recovery.
Josh Wharton, a family friend, went on Facebook to provide an update.
12-year-old Gracie has regained feeling in her lower extremities. Her IV has been removed and she is able to slowly get around in a wheelchair.
9-year-old Jayleigh’s pain comes and goes. She is not eating or drinking on her own, but the hope is her feeding tube will be removed soon.
For anyone who would liked to donate to the Pugh’s family, they can so at GiveSendGo. Already, the number is closing in on $300,000,
Hopefully, Gracie and Jayleigh will make a full recovery. Still, what a sad time for their friends and family.
