‘- There appears to be changes for Tuesday’s epic episode of SmackDown. With it being SmackDown 1,000 WWE has mentioned a slew of names appearing and confirmed several big matches. Plans have changed as Edge is no longer listed and Rey Mysterio is penciled in to compete twice.
There were rumors weeks ago that WWE Hall of Famer Edge would appear and that was finally confirmed just days go. The press release stated that Edge would hold a special edition of The Cutting Edge. WWE’s updated preview makes no mention of Edge and the Capital One Arena is not advertising his appearance. No reason why WWE has removed Edge from SmackDown 1,000.
As for Mysterio, he has been billed to take on United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match. That match is still on with the winner advancing in the World Cup at Crown Jewel. In an email just sent out, Mysterio is also part of a six person tag team match. That has AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan & Mysterio vs. Randy Orton, The Miz and Nakamura. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch was another change recently added to the show. It is possible that at least one of those contests will be a dark match.
Still confirmed for Tuesday’s show is Undertaker, Kane, Evolution (Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton & Batisita), Michelle McCool, Torrie Wilson, Vickie Guerrero and Teddy Long.
– WWE has felt lots of pressure from key United States Senators over their upcoming Crown Jewel event. Tension has been high between the United States and Saudi Arabia since Washington Post journalist and Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi disappeared on October 2. The reporter is believed to have been killed, which has led to the United States government wanting sanctions placed.
WWE issued a short comment that they were monitoring the situation. According to PWInsider, nothing has changed on WWE’s end and they have still are planning to run the show on November 2.
Crown Jewel features two high-profile matches with Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement to team with Triple H against Undertaker & Kane. WWE Champion AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan has also been confirmed.
Of course, WWE could change their mind if the Unites States takes action against the Saudi Arabian government.
