After his big win at Crown Jewel, Logan Paul discusses a major spot that got him a lot of praise.
Not long after it happened, fans and critics were posting clips of a spot from the United States title match at the event.
Rey Mysterio went for a risky move, and as we watched it, both live and in slow motion replays, it looked like we could have seen a horrific botch.
Specifically, it looked like Mysterio was about to land really badly on his head and neck.
But…he didn’t.
Instead of that really awkward landing, Logan Paul noted the issue, adjusted himself and caught the then-champion before any damage could be done.
Keep in mind folks, this is a Superstar who is neither a full-timer, nor a seasoned veteran.
Yet Logan Paul had the in-ring awareness and smarts to call a bit of an audible and protect the WWE Hall of Famer.
So, now that the show is in the past…
Logan Paul Discusses A Major Spot
On his own show, the current United States Champion talked about the now-famous spot.
He acknowledged that generally, he loves getting that praise (people had gone so far as to say Logan had saved Rey’s life).
Now, keep in mind, Paul is certainly a heel on screen, and seemingly often in life, too.
This wasn’t one of those times.
For as much as fans love to hate him, and it drives us crazy that someone can come in as a part-timer and look so comfortable and at home in the ring just…it’s incredible.
So, on that spot? Paul said that sure, maybe he did save Rey…but that Mysterio only was in a bad spot because Logan may have goofed and been out of position.
That said, the still-learning Superstar said he knew he had to protect his fellow Superstar, regardless of who messed up.
As much as we love to hate him, it’s hard not to respect someone who is that good already.
