According to a report, Hardy was written off AEW television and storylines during the June 21st edition of Dynamite for a very good reason. More on this below.

Why Jeff Hardy Was Written Off TV

During this week’s Dynamite, The Gunns faced off against the Hardys. In the end, the brothers lost the match.

After the bout, Juice Robinson grabbed a roll of quarters and punched Jeff in the face. He was seemingly injured by the action.

As per Fightful, the belief is the AEW star was written out of storylines due to the company’s Canadian dates. Due to his DUI arrest, he’s unable to cross the border.

The promotion has a number of events in Canada. This Friday, they’ll be in Hamilton, Ontario for Rampage and Saturday (for Collision). They’ll make a stop in Toronto for the Forbidden Door event, then in Saskatoon for Dynamite and Regina for Collision.

They’ll also be in Calgary for the July 15th edition of Collision, which will also spotlight the finals of the Owen Hart tournament. The roster will not be back in the United States until the July 19th edition of Dynamite in Boston, Massachusetts at the TD Garden.

With that being said, the report also reveals that the AEW talent may do pre-taped segments. It’ll be interesting to see if they decide to move forward with that.

His DUI History

Hardy has worked five AEW matches since his return to action from his hiatus. Three have been televised.

The AEW star was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI, last year in June 2022. He served a 38-day sentence, with 2 years probation, and has had his driver’s license suspended for two years.

In addition, he’s been court-mandated to do school or a DUI program, as well as community service. It looks like he’s doing well so far, and on behalf of everyone here at WNZ, we wish him continued success with his recovery.
