AEW could be down a tag team soon as the contracts for FTR will soon expire. Also, Bray Wyatt might select Hollywood over pro wrestling.
FTR AEW Contracts To Expire Soon
FTR were determined to get out of WWE. They were often put in ridiculous spots because WWE does not care about the tag team division.
WWE tried to keep them with some big money deals. FTR declined and continued to ask for their release.
Eventually, WWE caved and the release was granted. Then, they joined AEW and have been properly pushed.
As for their future with the company, that could change rather soon. On Barstool Rasslin, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood noted some goals, while also mentioning how their contracts are up soon.
“In 2022, we are going to get the titles back,” said Wheeler. “And we are going to have the title run that we should have had the first time where we are world-beaters.”
“We don’t have very much longer on these current contracts,” said Harwood. “I don’t know what’s going to happen from there, but we have a short amount of time to accomplish the things we want to accomplish.”
FTR continued besides the AEW Tag Team Championships, they also want the IWGP Tag Team Championships.
Right now, FTR are major players in AEW. They are part of the Pinnacle, even if the stable seems to be fading.
And, they appeared at Ring of Honor’s Final Battle. There, they went after The Briscoe Brothers offered an open challenge.
I wonder what else we’re going to see tonight. #AEWDynamite #WinterIsComing #ProWrestling We could probably see The Briscoes debut in #AEW tonight, especially after what went down between them & #FTR at #ROHFinalBattle #FinalBattle pic.twitter.com/Tan174LwX3

Based on the angle, there is belief those teams will meet soon under the AEW banner. No confirmation if the The Briscoe Brothers have signed with AEW.
Bray Wyatt’s Wrestling Future
Last year, WWE released a bunch of superstars. Then, 2021 saw a ridiculous number of wrestlers and office workers let go.
Perhaps, the biggest person gone is The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Reports state he did not have the best relationship with Vince McMahon, which led to his shocking departure.
Although, Wyatt is yet to debut anywhere. He has been able to sign with another promotion since the end of October.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer went over his current status. He does not believe Wyatt is in any rush to get back inside a ring.
“Windham, the former Bray Wyatt, is another name that has been talked about,” said Melter. “The last we heard was that he had the movie gig and didn’t want to come back so soon.”
“Whether he comes back here or Impact, I don’t know at this point. He may not be in a rush to do anything given he had one of the top five or six contracts in WWE.”
“So, unless he was living incredibly large, he shouldn’t have financial issues forcing him back until he feels like it. At one point he was apart on money from both promotions.”
Basically, the ball is in Wyatt’s court. If he wants to wrestle, there are plenty of options.
For now, the biggest free agent in pro wrestling still has not signed for another company.
