‘- Last night, UFC held their final show of the year with UFC 232. After the card, UFC President Dana White addressed the media and like always the topic of Brock Lesnar popped up. This all stems from countless reports that Lesnar is working towards a UFC return in the early part of 2019 against Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.
There have been some interesting moves on Lesnar’s part lately, as he keeps re-signing with WWE at the last minute. Still, White believes Lesnar will fight for the UFC and it will be for the title.
“[Lesnar] in a very unique position because he can play this thing between UFC and WWE,” said White. “They get right down to the wire, and I think Vince [McMahon) throws so much money at him that he goes ‘alright, I’ll do it again.’ When he’s ready, he can come in here and fight. He’s gonna make a s—load of money here too. So it makes sense. I assume that’s what’s going on.”
Lesnar is currently still serving a suspension for failed drug tests dating to UFC 200, but that ends in the next few weeks. So technically, Lesnar could be back inside the Octagon before January ends.
As for Lesnar and WWE, we know he will defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble. There is no word on when Lesnar’s current contract ends, but he likes to wait until the final week to re-sign for a better deal.
