WrestleMania has just ended, but there is already some news on the next PPV. There are some matches to be excited about, but also some disappointments. So, let us look at the current match card to see what we can expect!
Roman Reigns Vs. Braun Strowman
I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but god I am so sick and tired of Roman Reigns matches I don’t care about. The Roman Reigns Vs. Braun Strowman match is less than interesting. It is a real shame for Strowman as well, who does have the ability to put on an entertaining match. Of course, having Roman Reigns as an opponent can suck the life out of every WWE Superstar.
Seth Rollins Vs. Samoa Joe
This match does intrigue me since both stars can put on an amazing match. Even though the last match with Triple H was a little disappointing in my eyes, pitting two younger talents against each other is certainly a good move. Both superstars have many stories to tell still, so I can’t wait for this one.
The Hardy Boyz Vs. Sheamus & Cesaro
Since their return at WrestleMania, I have been following the Hardy Boyz like a hawk! Even though I watched the Hardy Boyz on Impact Wrestling, it is nice to see the return of Team Extreme!
During this week’s episode of RAW, Sheamus and Cesaro won the match against Enzo and Big Cass, making them the number one contenders for the title.
Even though I am quite excited for the match itself, I am worried about the popularity of Cesaro and Sheamus as a tag team. The popularity of the Hardy Boyz is nuclear right now, so anyone going up against them will have problems. Since Sheamus and Cesaro are face at the moment, I wonder what will happen to them.
Jericho/Balor Vs. Kevin Owens
The opponent of Kevin Owens at Payback still has to be determined. I personally believe it will be Balor, since Jericho is going on tour with his band Fozzy. Yet, Bleacher Report stated that Chris Jericho will take on Kevin Owens at Payback.
Unfortunately, having Chris Jericho as an opponent immediately gives us the outcome of the match. Jericho needs to combine his band’s tour with WWE, so him having the title does not make any sense. Therefore, if Jericho takes on Owens at Payback, a loss for Jericho is highly likely. If the rumors are true about Jericho taking on Owens, then it might mean we have to wait for Summerslam for Balor to take the title from Owens as well.
But what about Lesnar and his title defense? Well, the latest rumors seem to point to Lesnar not defending his title at Payback, backing up the claim once again that Lesnar is a part-timer that is in it for his paycheck. Although nothing has been confirmed, I’m not holding my hopes up.
