CM Punk Is Set To Be A Dramatic Failure In AEW Return
Like it or not, CM Punk is headed back to AEW. He will return during the debut of their Collision show on June 17.
We have learned Punk will team with FTR to challenge Jay White, Juice Robinson & Samoa Joe. We could see a new Bullet Club Gold member join before the night concludes.
It is no secret how Eric Bischoff is not a fan of Punk. On the latest episode of “Strictly Business,” Bischoff noted the poor ticket sales for Collision means CM Punk is set to be a dramatic failure upon his return.
CM Punk came in with all this mystique and he did a good job of creating that mystique and maintaining it,” said Bischoff. “For that I have respect, but once he got there, Punk didn’t deliver.”
“The audience has started to turn against him. The rabid CM Punk fan base has diminished substantially”
Bischoff mentioned how AEW sold 65,000 tickets for All In from England without Punk being promoted. Now that Punk is back, he continued how tickets sales have not dramatically increased.
For All In, Punk is rumored to take on KENTA. Although, the match has not been confirmed.
Saturday should be very interesting as Punk returns inside an AEW locker room. We will know soon if the others wrestlers are happy with him coming back and how the live audience treats him.
The scene Punk caused after All Out in September made AEW look awful. Ever since then, they have been struggling to get back on-track.
So, is Eric Bischoff correct that CM Punk is set to be a dramatic failure as he rejoins AEW during their first Collision show?
