Bye, Bye Big Cass

Backstage News On Big Cass
While Big Cass is far from being in the main event, WWE has shown interest in making him a star. Either Big Cass could defeat Braun Strowman or he comes closer than anyone else in stopping the monster. Both wrestlers are vying for that spot to be the next ‘big’ superstar.

He had the look, the physique, the size, and the talents; however, yesterday, as per a statement released by the WWE, Big Cass was also given his walking papers:

WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass)

Of course, loud-mouthed former WWE tag team partner, who has also been released by the WWE, Enzo Amore, felt the need to chime in on Big Cass’ pink slip, and hopped on Twitter with this message:

And one hour later …

Despite Enzo tweeting antics, the WWE Universe questions why? Whether you loved Big Cass’ in-ring technique and promos or not, truth was, there are lesser talents on the roster that lay in the mid-card (even main event) with the same skills, and after nine months away from action due to an ACL injury, Big Cass seemed like he was ready to go when he returned, heel character and all on SmackDown LIVE.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Big Cass wasn’t let go for only one issue, seems like there various factors leading up to his release; however, his recent stint on WWE’s tour of Europe seems to be a big one.

As per Sport Illustrated, Big Cass was drinking during the tour, which allegedly resulted in ‘attitude’ issues as well. Sources state that Big Cass was seen intoxicated in public, and this seems to be one of the big issues around his dismal.

There also seemed to be a private incident on a WWE bus chauffeuring talent. The bathroom lock had broken; and Cass believed he was being pranked. Feeling angry/claustrophobic, the big man tore the door off, which mean other people had to use the restroom with no door for privacy afterward. It’s important to note that some understood why Cass was frustrated and did what he did, while others were unhappy with the situation.

To add fuel to the fire, about a week before WWE’s European tour, Cass went off script during a promo that involved a little person. Vince McMahon apparently wanted Cass to only give the Daniel Bryan impersonator one big boot, Cass wanted to give the talent a beatdown after the boot, Vince shot down the idea, and Cass went on to conduct the promo, the way he wanted to. WWE’s YouTube segment of that clip doesn’t include the punches, nor does its photo gallery on the website.

Cass would move on to lose both of his pay-per-view matches against Daniel Bryan, with the Bearded-One cleaning beating BC at both Backlash and last Sunday’s Money in the Bank event.

Regardless, the entire situation is unfortunate. At merely 30 years of age, Big Cass had a world of opportunities at his fingertips, and had main eventer and future WWE World Heavyweight/Universal Champion written all over him.
