It’s another RAW In A Nutshell, and tonight gives us a big tag main event.
Yes, you read that right. A big tag main event, featuring Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and two thirds of Imperium.
I mean, that isn’t ALL we get to enjoy this week. Money In The Bank is…less than two weeks away.
Plus, with all the new belts getting flung around, I have to expect Rhea Ripley will get hers swapped out sooner than later.
But the big one is that big tag main event, and it should be a banger.
I mean…Kevin Owens…Sami Zayn…GUNTHER…Ludwig Kaiser?
A Big New Superstar Coming To Imperium?
That is going to be a fun and physical battle.
Not to be overlooked though, we do have a men’s MITB qualifier, too.
With that said, let’s get things rolling…
Big Tag Main Event : RAW In A Nutshell
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see how things go!
Best Match of the night:
Won’t be match of the night, but deserves a mention-Cody and The Miz…and Rhodes bled (so much for keeping that for the last hour).
As good as it was-and it was sneaky good-I was into the MITB qualifier. Strong and decisive win for Priest.
Not a match, but how good was the in-ring segment for Finn Balor and Rollins, with Balor cutting his promo while the fans did the sing-along?
But then, we had 30 minutes given to the main event tag title match featuring Owens, Zayn, GUNTHER and Kaiser. And it was strong.
Sure, the finish was a little tainted, but it was done to keep everyone strong. And it sets up our MITB Intercontinental Championship clash, probably.
Worst match of the night:
I wasn’t all that into a couple matches. Part of me just wanted to get to the main event already…
Raquel versus Shayna. Or, Gable versus Erik.
I mean, they were not absolute stinkers…just where they were, back to back…it was a dead spot.
Crowd Chants of the Night:
Wichita was a nice crowd. Leaving it at that.
Star of the Night
Rhea got herself a new belt. Looks good.
Damien Priest claimed the last men’s MITB spot. Is he the favorite?
Finn Balor called out Seth Rollins and got himself a title shot in London.
Pretty big night for the Judgement Day, no?
Spot of the Night:
Jobber of the Night:
Raquel kind of did the job…
Upset of the Night:
Not truly an upset, but a mild surprise that Damien Priest pinned Riddle.
Then again…could this be the start of Priest’s main even rise? Maybe?
Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:
Another big one…Seth Rollins announced an open challenge next week…the same week Logan Paul returns.
Could Paul go for gold? Is that a chance for Bron Breakker to show up (depending on what happens on Tuesday?).
Botch of the night:
Kevin Patrick flubbed some lines.
So too did Becky Lynch. But, give the pro credit, she acknowledged getting tongue-tied and steered into the skid.
I could say Zoey Stark wasn’t crisp at the beginning of her retort, but she corrected things.
Commentary of the night:
After another fumble…can we PLEASE put someone else with Graves?
I know some of it is just me, but every time I hear Kevin Patrick, he still sounds like a backstage interviewer.
LOL Moment of the night:
Noteworthy Moment:
It is official…the best looking titles are on RAW. Adam Pearce gave Rhea the Women’s World Championship title, which is similar to the belt Seth Rollins just won.
Now, that belt didn’t wow me at first, but at least it’s a fresh look, versus what WWE did on SmackDown (2 misses there).
Undeniable tension and foreshadowing in the Judgement Day segment. Finn wants a shot to be the top dog, and Damien kind of has that on lockdown.
Gut here says Balor pushes his way out…but stay tuned.
Overall lowlights:
A couple dud matches, but overall a good night so…yep.
Overall highlights:
Lots to like. Honestly at one point it felt like so much had happened and then I realized there was still an hour to go.
Like Cody and Miz, and Cody and Dom…
Judgement Day had themselves a night. There’s drama too, and the Irish Ace is lurking.
After the final bell:
From the opening title presentation, to the big tag main event, and lots in between…this was a fun RAW.
