Beth Phoenix has not been on any WWE programing for some time, leading to questions if she will join Adam Copeland in AEW.
Beth Phoenix To Join AEW Alongside Adam Copeland?
Adam Copeland, then going as Edge, had a major decision to make towards the end of the summer. He completed his WWE contract by pinning Sheamus on SmackDown.
There were a few options like re-signing, retirement or looking elsewhere. WWE and Copeland were not close on a new contract, so he went to AEW.
From the start, he has been working opposite Christian Cage. Those two will meet on Wednesday’s Dynamite in a highly anticipated grudge match out of Canada.
Now, fans are wondering if Copeland’s wife, Beth Phoenix, will join AEW since she has not been on WWE TV in some time. Mike Johnson was asked during a PW Insider Q&A that very question.
“No, I don’t think there’s a connection there,” said Johnson. “There were lots of periods where she was off TV and then returned.”
“I would think that when they have a storyline or an angle or a broadcast assignment for her, she’ll be back.”
Despite retiring over a decade ago, Phoenix has competed for WWE on numerous occasions. The WWE Hall of Famer spent a good part of 2022 and 2023 teaming with Edge.
They feuded briefly with The Miz & Maryse before switching their attention to The Judgement Day. Copeland and Phoenix would team several times in tag matches.
The married coupled last teamed at the Elimination Chamber earlier in the year. They left the victors, defeating Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.
Phoenix was seen at ringside during what would be the final WWE match for Edge.
So, will Beth Phoenix find her way to AEW alongside Adam Copeland or will WWE call first?
