With Adam Copeland now All Elite, will Beth Phoenix join her husband and became the newest addition to team AEW?
Beth Phoenix To Join AEW After Adam Copeland Debuts?
In August, Edge found himself in a unique spot. He completed his WWE contract and there were a few options for what was next.
The WWE Hall of Famer could have re-signed, retired or tested his value elsewhere. In the end, he inked a deal with AEW.
Since debuting, he has worked mostly opposite his longtime friend, Christian Cage. They met in tag and trio matches before Christian won a singles match earlier in the month.
With Edge, now going by Adam Copeland, being All Elite, there is talk about his wife. As of now, Beth Phoenix has not indicated what her next role shall be.
During a Q&A with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, a fan wanted to know about Phoenix’s status.
“I know it’s been brought up people backstage, but I don’t know if it’s a possibility,” said Sapp.
It remains to be seen if Phoenix is still under some type of WWE deal. She did call action on NXT, but has since left that position.
Phoenix did spend the last year working with her husband against The Judgement Day. It saw Copeland and Phoenix team, with the duo winning the blowoff match.
Because it sounds like Phoenix is part of Copeland’s AEW theme, that has made people think she is AEW bound.
Conflicting Stories On Beth Phoenix And WWE Status
Not longer after Copeland’s debut Mike Johnson from PWInsider denied any speculation.
“I don’t think there’s a connection there,” said Johnson. “There were lots of periods where she was off TV and then returned.”
“I would think that when they have a storyline or an angle or a broadcast assignment for her, she’ll be back.”
If AEW does bring Beth in, she would likely only work with Copeland. I just do not see her needed in their women’s division.
So, will Beth Phoenix join AEW and work alongside Adam Copeland?
