Bayley Returns From Injury – Will Wrestle For Title At No Mercy

A few weeks back, Bayley injured her shoulder and was set to miss some time. People figured it was for the best. Bayley’s character grew stale and fans even booed her when she announced her injury. Many, including me, speculated that Bayley would come back in a few months with a hard-edge and a mean streak. Bayley returned to her hometown of San Jose. It was the Raw before the No Mercy PPV and Bayley came out even the odds against Women’s Division monster Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss.

Bayley gave her best friend Sasha Banks the assist in beating up Champion Bliss and celebrated with The Boss to close out the segment. Afterwards it was announced that Bayley would be returning at joining the Women’s Title match at No Mercy. Here’s what she had to say about it:

New Bayley, Same Old Mistakes?

Bayley continues to be the lovable, huggable one. She came out all determination and smiles to stand by her best friend and fellow contender, Sasha Banks. Will Bayley be so friendly at No Mercy? That remains to be seen. At least on Twitter, she showed just a tiny bit of PG-edge.

Those of us hoping for a Bayley heel turn are bound for disappointment. Bayley is the equivalent of John Cena, but for young tween girls. Her style and personality might not mesh with an older audience, but she is targeting an audience that WWE has yet to fully reach.

What should we expect on Sunday? I think we’re more likely to see Sasha turn against Bayley. Perhaps the Huggable One costs the Boss the match, and Sasha finally grows tired of Bayley’s cutesy act. The move would be similar to how the two began their monumental and award-winning feud in NXT.

Or maybe we WILL get that edgier Bayley? Perhaps she moves from everyone’s best friend to the girl who is tired of being picked on? We will see at No Mercy.
