While a new report claims Hulk Hogan is back home after an extended hospital stay, the WWE icon is still in a bad place physically.
Last month, former pal turned enemy, Bubba the Love Sponge, made some bold claims about the “Immortal One.” The long-time radio host said that following spinal surgery, Hogan was recovering poorly and his family was headed to a Florida hospital to say their goodbyes.
In the days following, Hogan’s close friend Eric Bischoff debunked the reports and said the multi-time WWE and WCW champion was not in a near-death situation. Then his wife, Sky, added more details to his current situation following rumors that Hogan may be in a coma.
“No, he’s definitely not in a coma!” she said in a response she posted on her Instagram Story. “His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumors are true. He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process.”
Well, it seems Mr. Love Sponge has another update. Although he confirms that Hogan is on the road to recovery and is neither near death nor comatose, he revealed sources have informed him his former friend is still in very bad shape after surgery.
Hulk Hogan is still in serious condition after spinal surgery
“Jimmy Hart told my source, Hogan’s not doing well. He can’t speak. His trachea or whatever was damaged, and he’s having problems, and it does not look good,” co-host Seth Kushner said on Bubba the Love Sponge’s podcast [h/t Ringside News]. “That’s what I was told. So, he does not look good at all.”
“My source also said he was transported to his house,” Bubba added. “But he’s still—like—they got him set up in a hospital bed. It’s just like being at the hospital. They’ve done all they can at the hospital now. They’re just keeping him comfortable at his house in a hospital bed.”
Obviously, whatever the radio host says has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Since those close to Hulk Hogan have denied all of his claims. However, it is still worrisome that the wrestling legend has not made any public statements on his health in the weeks since the rumors first emerged.
