With Vince McMahon focusing his attention on the XFL, and with other statements made by Vince, many believe it is only a matter of time before Triple H takes over the WWE in its entirety. Now, it would seem that is the case, with various reports stating Triple H is ready to take over. Here is the story.
Be Ready When the Time Comes!
Recent reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicate Triple H is getting ready to take over the company. According to Meltzer, the Game is assembling his NXT team for when the time comes. Many believe this time is sooner than we might think.
Taking Over 205 Live
There has been some proof that Triple H is working his way up to running the entire WWE. This includes his recent take over of the booking on 205 Live. The brand has been suffering for a long time. If one man can turn it around, it is certainly the man behind the success of NXT. If Triple H turns around the brand successfully, many believe it is only a matter of time for H to make the transition to running the main roster.
Main Roster Negotiations
Another strong indicator that Triple H may be close to taking over the main roster is the fact that the recent big acquisition to the roster – Ronda Rousey – was handled by both Triple H and his wife Stephanie. Big acquisitions are usually Vince’s territory, but now it would seem that H and Stephanie were more involved than Vince.
Is It Time to Play the Game?
In my opinion, there are a lot of indicators that Triple H is going to take over WWE programming in the future. I for one would not be sad about since it is clear there are some problems on the main roster territory.
Many fans have accused Vince McMahon of being out of touch with his fans. A good example of this, in my opinion, is the long title reign of Brock Lesnar, who has been a paper champion more than anything else. However, Vince likes big guys as poster boys for the brand, so the lengthy championship reign is no surprise.
When you look at the talent that Triple H signed in the past couple of years, it is clear he has an excellent eye. Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka, and many others are some of the people Triple H acquired. So, imagine him being responsible for booking and creative decisions on Raw and SmackDown!
