AEW Rumors: Wrestlers And Staff Believe AEW PPV Events Are Way Too Long?

AEW (All Elite Wrestling) has consistently produced stellar pay-per-view events. While they have been captivating, the events can run pretty long. And it seems that many inside the company are not fans of how lengthy major events can be.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez cited AEW Double or Nothing going over four hours in length. Alvarez stated that, outside of asking CEO Tony Khan, everybody behind the scenes felt that the shows should end before midnight on the East Coast.

“Yesterday, I spent the whole day talking to all sorts of people in AEW. I will say with one exception, because if I say ‘everybody’ then, you know, but it was actually everybody – every single person was like, ‘These shows are too long. We all know it. They should end before midnight on the east coast.’”

Every single person in the company that I talked to, except Tony [Khan] because I didn’t talk to him – because of course he doesn’t think they’re too long – every single person there is like, ‘They’re too long. He just does it. We can’t stop it. There’s nothing that can be done.’ The shows are too long. Everybody knows it except Tony and a small handful of the sickos that would watch the show if it were nine hours long.”

Regardless of the time length, AEW Double or Nothing was a success. It featured top talents like Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone, Kenny Omega, and many others. Moreover, the fans in Arizona witnessed some stellar matches. The company is now looking ahead to their next major event, AEW All In Texas.

It will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Jon Moxley defending the AEW title against Adam Page and Mercedes Mone vs. Toni Storm for the women’s world title are announced for the event.
