Before Ricochet joined WWE and Will Ospreay signed with AEW, they met in NJPW. They produced one of the greatest matches ever seen. As a result, both were seen as major stars. Since that clinic, fans have wanted to see them wrestle the same caliber match. Because they were in different promotions, it was never going to happen. Although, with Ricochet heading to AEW and rumored for All In, a meeting is now possible.
To promote AEW All In, Ospreay spoke to talkSPORT. “That whole match kind of changed my perspective on wrestling, it changed my output and how people viewed me,” said Ospreay. “But I feel like him coming in now, it’s one of those things where we [did] that match, and we went off on our separate journeys, and now we’re coming back together again. I am calling you out. I am saying, remind the world that you are one of the best to have ever done this s—. Because I believe it, and if I believe it, you’ve gotta believe in yourself now.”
Will Ospreay VS Ricochet Seems Very Likely
WWE and Ricochet did not come to terms on a new deal. It seems like both sides left the door open for down the road. As expected, Ricochet was a blast to watch on TV. The problem is. even though he was bulky, he was too short in the eyes of WWE to be at the top.
Ospreay is still new to AEW, signing less than a year ago. He will try to defeat MJF at All In to regain the American Championship (aka International Championship). He is certainly the future of AEW. So, will Will Ospreay vs Ricochet be another classic?
