AEW Reportedly Took Career-Defining Moment Away From Daniel Garcia Due To Volatile Contract Situation

A new report claims plans for a career-defining win for AEW prospect Daniel Garcia were altered due to his current contract situation with the company.

Over the weekend, AEW followed up their gigantic All In event from a couple of weeks ago with another pay-per-view card, All Out. The event in Chicago followed up on several key storylines from the card in Wembley Stadium. The most notable of which was a one-on-one match between recent rivals MJF and Daniel Garcia.

The two New York natives began a feud this summer that was the setup for the former AEW Champion’s return to his villainous ways. After brutally beating down Garcia on an episode of AEW Dynamite, the talented homegrown wrestler took several weeks off to sell the injury. However, he made his triumphant return at All In to help cost MJF his American Championship.

All In served as a revenge match for both. Unsurprisingly, MJF walked away from the match with the victory. However, it seems that may not have been what was first planned to be the result of the highly anticipated match.

“The originally planned finish to MJF vs Daniel Garcia was a clean victory for Daniel,” Wrestle Purists reporter Ibou claimed in a Wednesday X post. “AEW is under the impression that Garcia is staying. But because a deal has still not been signed, the decision was made to have MJF go over. MJF is expected to go film a movie.”

Daniel Garcia’s contract is rumored to expire in October. The company is supposedly still in discussions on a new pact. However, there is a belief he would like to test his value in free agency before agreeing to a new contract.
