“At the end of the day, things happened to where he’s on the outs with AEW right now,” Ibou of WrestlePurists reported this week. “There’s a lot of things, most of it will never be reported. But ultimately there’s a falling out there, and it is what it is. He’s asked for a release, Tony won’t give it to him, and he’s just going to wait out the rest of his deal.

“He’s going to stay relevant by working indy dates and good for him. I’m happy for him. That’s just gonna be the situation in the meantime.”

The former FTW and Tag Champion last appeared on the March 30 edition of AEW Collision. He has been on loggerheads with the management due to unknown reasons. Moreover, Ricky Starks recent removal from multiple GCW events due to controversial remarks about Tony and his father, Shahid Khan has only worsened the entire thing.

WWE reportedly has interest in signing Ricky Starks. Moreover, Starks also has some backing in the global juggernaut from his friend and current face of WWE, Cody Rhodes. This could prove to be a remarkable move by the company. So it will be interesting to see if WWE will sign Ricky Starks upon becoming a free agent.
