More: Tony Khan Wants Bryan Danielson Running Things If Ever He Cannot
He is probably one of a few former WWE Superstars that the company and it’s fans wish were still in the WWE Universe. After all, he connected with fans in such a way that their support gave us the famous Yes-tleMania. If not for that overwhelming fan support, you have to think the company wouldn’t have done what they did in New Orleans. As popular as he was in WWE, once his contract ran out, he made the jump to AEW.
Time flies

It’s hard to believe that was a few years ago already. In fact, Bryan Danielson’s original AEW contract is nearly up-though there is no indication that he wants to leave. Earlier this year, a co-worker offered his own view of Danielson’s importance. Specifically, industry veteran Tony Schiavone took to his own show to sound off on the value of Bryan Danielson to AEW. Specifically, he believes that Danielson represents one of Tony Khan’s best and most important hires of the entire lifespan of AEW.
Honestly, it’s hard to disagree, even though the impact isn’t going to be measured in title belts. Danielson has reached a point in his career where he can still work, and he is talented in the ring. But, he also probably would rather not go on such a grinding run as he’s done in the past. After all, the injury bug that bit him so often in WWE? It’s followed him to AEW as well. But, while injured and missing time on screen, the American Dragon has been valuable in so many other ways. Per Schiavone, Danielson chimes in often with excellent ideas and works with the other talent well. Tony Khan trusts the former WWE Champion, viewing him as someone who would book the show if he could not.
None of this is all that surprising, in the grand scheme of things. It’s more high praise for a wrestler who has earned it every step of his career.
