AEW News: Saraya Reveals Why She Hasn’t Had Mercedes Mone-Style Run In AEW, Current Contract Status

It looks like Saraya’s run in AEW could be coming to an end very soon.

Saraya had been a prime fixture for All Elite Wrestling ever since debuting in Tony Khan’s company in 2022. The former WWE Divas Champion has been in top matches against the likes of Britt Baker and Toni Storm. However, since mid-2024, Saraya, FKA Paige, has been absent from AEW television programming.

Saraya has been open to putting others over during AEW run

The former Anti-Diva revealed that she had requested time off, which was granted by Tony Khan. However, her AEW contract is reportedly nearing its end. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Saraya addressed her run in the company and why she hasn’t been a dominant force like fellow WWE alum Mercedes Mone.

“I’m letting people beat me, left, right and center. I was on a losing streak, but I just wanted people to get their rub… I want to uplift everybody. I’m not gonna be in wrestling forever. I’m coming to the end of it and it’s very soon. And I don’t wanna go out being like, I need to be on top.” Saraya stated.

Saraya became a renowned figure for her stint in WWE, which began in 2014 on the main roster. She was among the pioneers of the Women’s Revolution. However, in 2018, Saraya was forced to retire due to neck-related issues. She stayed with the company for the next four years in a non-wrestling capacity but left in 2022 to sign with AEW.

Moreover, she is also gearing up for the release of her book, “Hell in Boots” which is set to release on March 25. With Saraya dropping a major hint at retirement, it remains to be seen if she will come back for one final run in AEW or return to her former home, WWE.
