MJF Reveals Details On How Much He Will Make In Current AEW Contract: ‘I Am Making Top Guy Money’

In a new interview, AEW superstar MJF spilled new details on the massive amount he will make in his current contract.

For much of 2023 into 2024, one of the biggest stories in professional wrestling was the eventual bidding war for Maxwell Jacob Friedman. During his outstanding run in the company, the former independent star emerged to become one of their very best talents.

However, instead of fans speculating about the WWE making a push to land his services, MJF himself pushed the idea on AEW TV that he was looking forward to an eventual bidding war between the top two companies in the industry. Yet, the former world champion never reached free agency. And instead inked a new long-term deal with the company last year.

Many have wondered what was the offer AEW gave that made MJF pass on a chance to hit free agency. Well, some of that information was revealed this week.

“What I will tell you is the amount of money that I get by the time it is over far surpasses 15 million,” MJF told Sports Illustrated this week (h/t WrestlingNews.co). “I am making top guy money, whether it be an All Elite wrestling contract or a WWE contract. I am 28 years old. Every single top act in professional wrestling besides me is either in their late 30s, late 40s, or early 50s. For the people who are panicked, ‘Oh my gosh. Am I ever gonna get to see MJF outside of All Elite Wrestling? Am I ever gonna get to see MJF in this place, that place?’ Look, the reason I was paid top dollar is because I’m a generational talent.

“I won the bidding war. WWE didn’t win the bidding war. All Elite Wrestling didn’t win the bidding war. I won the bidding war because I am making an absurd amount of money. By the time the contract is up, I will still be absurdly young, and then I will be able, once again, to make an absurd amount of money in the next bidding war,” he added. “And you know who’s going to win again, me.”

It is unclear how long MJF’s AEW deal is, but chances are it is probably a five-year pact.
