There have been many reports about potential AEW stars that could depart in the next six months. However, don’t count Lee Moriarty among those looking to take their talents elsewhere in 2025.
Moriarty is one of the many members of what has become a deep AEW roster. So deep that there are quite a few talents that do double duty as members of both the AEW and ROH rosters. The master of “Taiga Style” is an example of that and currently holds the ROH Pure Championship.
However, since he did sign to be a member of the AEW roster three years ago, it would be understandable if the 30-year-old was frustrated by being used more in ROH instead of the company he signed with. But in an exclusive interview with Ringside Intel, Lee Moriarty claimed he is just fine with his current situation in the company.
He is a firm believer in giving back to the business and being selfless instead of selfish. It is one of the reasons why he is loyal to the brand and isn’t interested in testing the open market when his contract eventually expires.
“I want to help AEW grow,” Moriarty told Ringside Intel. “Just like they are helping me with my art. I think that’s the way of helping pro wrestling grow. There’s different avenues and places you can call home. I can call AEW home. And that’s what I want to do. I want to help them grow just like they’ve helped me grow as a professional wrestler and an artist.”
AEW has been very supportive as Lee Moriarty pursues passions in the art world
However, Moriarty’s loyalty to AEW isn’t just about bettering the business. His first passion has always been art. In recent years, he has expanded into painting. Some of his work (pictured above) featuring men in lucha masks doing everyday things will be on display at the NADA Miami booth (Booth D-204) at Miami Art Week on Dec. 7 and 8. And the company has been very supportive and helpful in his art endeavors.
It is just another example of why he enjoys working for the company. When it comes to the creative side of his wrestling career, the company has been just as supportive and helpful in growing that part of his life as well.
“AEW gives us the creative freedom to express ourselves however we want,” Moriarty says. “Same with my art. I have this freedom to express myself, and that’s why you see this vision of Lee Moriarty. That’s why you see ‘Taiga Style’ because that is who I am. And they help me elevate that.
“… In the creative process, there are people backstage who do want to help us. And that’s not just management. That’s the other wrestlers,” he says. “That’s [Jon] Moxley, Orange Cassidy, Claudio Castagnoli, Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson, so many people. And I am grateful for that and all aspects of AEW from top to bottom.
